Data Engineer

At YoungOnes, we are building a data-driven organization where technology and commerce go hand in hand. We recently transitioned to a data environment following the data lakehouse principle (medallion architecture), based on Azure and Databricks. The foundation is set, now it’s time to scale up.

That’s why we are looking for a Data Engineer ready for their next step. Someone who doesn’t just think in code, but also spots business opportunities and wants to create commercial impact.

What will you do?

You will work in a compact, mature data team (2 Data Engineers, 2 Data Analysts, 3.5 FTE RevOps) positioned at the heart of the organization. You will have direct contact with Operations, Development, Marketing, and Product. This isn't a "behind-the-scenes" role, you will be in a position where you directly contribute to the growth ambition of YoungOnes and its business results.

Specifically, you will:

• Build and optimize data pipelines within our Azure/Databricks environment;

• Deploy infrastructure as code via Terraform;

• Work with the medallion architecture (bronze, silver, gold) and contribute to further standardization and automation;

• Develop data models that support analytics and commercial steering;

• Collaborate on building data products within the YoungOnes app;

• Take the next steps toward Machine Learning and AI integration;

• Structurally improve data quality, monitoring, and performance;

• Proactively advise on how data can be used more smartly across the organization.

We have just migrated to this new environment, which means there is still plenty to design and refine. You won’t just be doing maintenance, you’ll have the space to truly build.

• A gross salary between €4,000 and €6,000 based on a full-time contract;

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

• Has at least 2 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role;

• Has experience with Azure (DevOps), Databricks, SQL and Python/PySpark;

• Understands how data modeling and ETL processes work;

• Enjoys working closely with the business side of the company;

• Can pivot quickly when priorities change without losing the big picture;

• Gets energized by seeing the direct impact of their work;

• Makes workflows easy, smart and scalable;

• Is curious about AI applications and loves experimenting with new technology;

• Is already residing in the Netherlands and is allowed to work in the country.
